What it does

An assistant for the admin, not another app to learn.

Fairlead is built for small businesses—trades, agencies, practices—where the paperwork lands on whoever has a spare minute. You connect the mailbox and calendar you already use, tell the assistant how you work, and it handles the routine parts from there.

Stays on top of the inbox

Your assistant reads the mail you point it at and gives you a short morning summary, flags what actually needs you, and keeps the rest out of your way.

Drafts the replies

It writes replies in your own tone and leaves them in your drafts folder. Nothing is ever sent unless you ask for it to be sent.

Keeps the diary straight

It sees what is coming up, tells you the day ahead, and books appointments in your calendar when you ask.

Keeps the spreadsheets up to date

Link the spreadsheets you already use — a job list, a price list — and it can read them, add rows and keep them current, in Google Sheets or Excel.

Works to your hours

You set the working days, the hours and the people who matter. The routines run on that schedule and go quiet outside it.

What it connects to

Your own email and calendar, with your permission.

Fairlead connects to Google (Gmail and Google Calendar), Microsoft (Outlook and Microsoft 365), or any other mailbox over IMAP. You choose which account to connect, and you can disconnect it at any time from the Permissions page inside the app.

How Fairlead uses your Google data

When you connect a Google account, Fairlead asks for four permissions and no others:

  • Gmail (read, draft and send) — so the assistant can summarise what has arrived, prepare reply drafts in your own drafts folder, and send a message when you explicitly ask it to.
  • Google Calendar events (read and create) — so it can tell you what is coming up and book an appointment when you ask.
  • Google Sheets (read and update) — so it can work with the spreadsheets you run the business on. By default it can only open the ones you link inside Fairlead, and nothing else in your Drive.
  • Google Drive (find spreadsheets by name) — so you can say “open the job sheet” instead of finding a link for it. By default your assistant cannot reach your Drive at all: it opens only the spreadsheets you have linked. If you switch on the wider setting, it can search your own Drive for a spreadsheet you name. Either way it only ever reaches your own files, and it cannot create, rename, move or delete anything.

Fairlead never sells or shares your email, calendar or spreadsheet data with advertisers or data brokers, and never uses it to train AI models. Disconnecting the account deletes the stored credentials and withdraws Fairlead’s access from your Google account straight away. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
